This week, Donald Trump will accept the Republican nomination for a second term. We can not afford another 4 years of a Trump Administration.
How has his administration hurt the District of Columbia?
- Failed Presidential leadership has drawn out the public health emergency, causing residents to continue struggling to survive, causing families the devastating loss of loved ones, and putting our local businesses in grave danger of closing.
- Then, in the face of the global pandemic, the Republican Senate short-changed the District of Columbia in the aid package by over 700 million dollars, half of what Maryland and Virginia received.
The DC Council was forced to make tough decisions in order to balance our local budget.
I fought to ensure our budget prioritizes residents, and I am pleased with the budget that we passed, but I also know that we will be recovering from the federal government’s negligence for years to come.
We need Democrats in office, up and down the ticket to be able to bounce back. I am the only Democrat running in a race of 25 total candidates. Only the top 2 vote getters will have a seat on the Council.
I am asking for your support. This is a competitive race. As your Democratic nominee, I am working to increase voter participation and education on the issues that are impacting our communities – affordable housing, education, and employment.
With your support, we will move forward, together.
